The building regulations are a statutory (legal) framework that identifies all of the critical issues relating to construction work. The approved documents (AD) are supporting documentation in order of importance to how they impact on protection of human life, comfort of the building users, and the effective service life of a building.

In some instances the regulations may seem onerous, but is it always useful to remember they are there for your safety and protection.
